about the artist

Born in 1949, in Hereford, I am a British painter of Flemish heritage, now based in Sussex.

I studied art at Dartington College of Art and at Rolle College, Exeter, under Alan Cotton. I have taught art and painted ever since, in London, Cambridgeshire and now Sussex.

With my wife, Elizabeth Brown, I run the South East School of Art (SESA) in East Grinstead, West Sussex. Our professional and experienced teachers work with small groups of students in our studio overlooking the Ashdown Forest. We offer life classes (drawing, painting and portraiture), drawing ( pastel and charcoal), painting ( oils, acrylic and watercolour), sculpture, printmaking, calligaphy/lettering. We also have classes for A level and GCSE students, KS3 mixed media workshops and a childrens' drawing class. For more details please visit our website HERE|.

I am also an art adviser to the Willow Foundation, |HERE| and I am currently represented by the Hop Gallery in Lewes, East Sussex |HERE|.

I exhibit regularly and my work is in collections worldwide - UK, Europe, Japan, Kenya, Australia and the USA.

If you would like to see any of my paintings in person, discuss a commission or simply purchase some cards, please contact me at:
